The Complete Guide to Schools in The Woodlands, Texas (2026–27)

The three public-school districts serving The Woodlands: Conroe ISD, Tomball ISD and Magnolia ISD, with 2026 TEA ratings
The Woodlands relocation & real-estate guide

A village-by-village, district-by-district guide to public, charter and private schools—including Creekside Park and the Magnolia ISD edge—with current grade spans, locations, 2026 Texas accountability ratings and selected school recognitions.

Researched and last fact-checked: August 25, 2026

The one fact every homebuyer should know: “The Woodlands” is not one school district. Most villages are in Conroe ISD, Creekside Park is in Tomball ISD, and a small western portion near Sterling Ridge/May Valley is in Magnolia ISD. A village name, subdivision name or real-estate listing is never a substitute for checking the exact property address with the district.

Schools are often one of the first questions families ask when they begin looking at homes in The Woodlands. The answer is more nuanced than a single list because attendance boundaries cross neighborhood lines, several campuses sit just outside The Woodlands while serving local addresses, and Creekside Park changed its grade configuration for the 2026–27 school year.

This guide brings the important information together in one place. It identifies where each campus is physically located, which district operates it, the grades currently served, the latest available Texas Education Agency rating for public schools, and notable programs or recognitions when they can be verified. Ratings are a useful snapshot—not a promise of an individual student’s experience—and should be considered alongside campus visits, programs, transportation, student needs and current attendance boundaries.

The three public-school districts serving The Woodlands

Graphic showing Conroe ISD, Tomball ISD and Magnolia ISD as the three public-school districts serving The Woodlands, with 2026 TEA district ratings

District ratings shown are the 2026 Texas A–F accountability results. Always verify a property through the district’s current attendance-zone tool.

Conroe ISDServes most of The Woodlands, including the main The Woodlands High School and College Park High School pathways. 2026 district rating: B / 85.
Tomball ISDServes Creekside Park, south of Spring Creek in Harris County. 2026 district rating: A / 92.
Magnolia ISDServes a small western edge, including listed portions of Sterling Ridge and nearby Del Webb The Woodlands. 2026 district rating: B / 87.

These district ratings and the campus ratings below come from the Texas Education Agency’s Texas Schools system and official 2026 accountability reports. On the state scale, A is 90–100, B is 80–89, C is 70–79, D is 60–69 and F is below 60. “EE” in an official grade span means Early Education. Public-school grade spans reflect the current 2026–27 campus structure where a district has already implemented a change. Private schools do not receive TEA A–F ratings, so their entries use accreditation and program information instead.

Creekside Park schools: Tomball ISD

Creekside Park is the part of The Woodlands in Harris County, and its zoned public schools are operated by Tomball ISD. For 2026–27, the Creekside elementary campuses serve kindergarten through fourth grade, while the expanded Creekside Park campus serves grades 5–8.

Why some rating pages show different grades: the 2026 TEA ratings reflect the grade configurations in effect during the rated school year—K–5 at the elementaries and 6–8 at Creekside Park Junior High. Tomball ISD opened its fifth-grade addition in August 2026, creating the district’s first 5–8 campus. The table below uses the current 2026–27 grade structure while keeping the rating year clearly labeled.

Which high school serves Creekside Park?

Creekside Park has traditionally followed Tomball ISD’s Tomball High School feeder pattern. However, Tomball ISD opened Tomball West High School for the 2026–27 year and implemented a district high-school zone reset with grade-level transition rules. Buyers should use the official Tomball ISD attendance-zone map for the property address and review the district zone-reset information rather than relying on an older feeder chart.

Academic programs, awards and recognitions worth knowing

A long directory is only useful if it also explains what the numbers mean. These are selected, current and verifiable highlights—not a ranking of children, campuses or neighborhoods.

Conroe ISDThe district reports a 97.2% graduation rate, recognition as a District of Distinction in visual arts since 2022, 12-time NAMM Best Communities for Music Education recognition, and multiple state transparency and fiscal recognitions.
2026 Conroe resultsConroe ISD reported 22 A-rated campuses and 26 B-rated campuses. Lamar Elementary earned its first A; new Eissler Elementary earned a B; College Park recorded an eight-point Academic Growth improvement.
The Woodlands High SchoolNine UIL Lone Star Cups are listed in the school’s history. In 2025, the campus received the PASCH plaque recognizing it as an International German Partner School.
Tomball ISDThe district’s 2026 A / 92 was its seventh consecutive A rating. The Creekside public campuses all earned A ratings in the 2026 release.
Magnolia high schoolsMagnolia High earned an A / 92 and Magnolia West an A / 93. The district reported AP School Honor Roll recognition at Silver for Magnolia High and Bronze for Magnolia West.
Private-school measuresLook for independent accreditation, program authorization, course breadth, class structure, student support and college counseling. A marketing-site score is not the same as a TEA accountability rating.

How to verify the right school before buying a home

  1. Start with the exact street address. Do not use only the village, subdivision, ZIP code, nearest campus or seller’s listing remarks.
  2. Check the operating district. Use the Conroe ISD maps, Tomball ISD zone map or Magnolia ISD zone locator.
  3. Ask the district to confirm the assignment in writing. This is especially important near the west Sterling Ridge/Magnolia line and during Tomball ISD’s high-school transition.
  4. Review the current TEA campus report. Note the rating year, grade structure, graduation data, academic growth and any support designation.
  5. Visit and ask student-specific questions. Transportation, special education, gifted programs, languages, fine arts, athletics, course sequencing and before/after-school care can matter more than one summary score.
  6. Recheck before closing or enrollment. Districts can redraw zones and open campuses; no real-estate professional can guarantee a future assignment.
Real-estate note: This guide is designed to help buyers organize their research, not to steer anyone toward or away from a school or neighborhood. Families should choose the educational setting that fits their own needs and verify all school information independently.

Ellisor Elementary, Bear Branch Intermediate, Bear Branch Junior High and Magnolia High School for listed portions of Sterling Ridge West, Woodland Village Sterling Ridge and nearby Del Webb The Woodlands.
